FAQ

How to connect a proxy on Instagram?

Below you will find instructions on how to connect a proxy to Instagram for different devices and operating systems.

  • iPhone

Instagram on iPhone does not have a built-in proxy feature. To make the social network work through a proxy, you need to configure the settings at the system level.

This method only works for Wi-Fi and does not apply to mobile networks.

Step 1. Open network settings

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to the Wi-Fi section.
  3. Tap the ⓘ icon next to the connected network.

Step 2. Configure the proxy

  1. Scroll down to the HTTP Proxy section.
  2. Select “Manual.”
  3. Fill in the fields:
    • Server — IP or proxy domain.
    • Port — port number (e.g., 8080, 3128, 1080, etc.).
  4. If authorization is required:
    • Enable “Authentication.”
    • Enter your login.
    • Enter your password.
Go back — the settings are saved automatically.
  • Android

Instagram on Android does not have a built-in proxy feature. To make the social network work through a proxy, you need to configure the settings at the system level.

This method only works for Wi-Fi; it does not apply to mobile networks.

Step 1. Open the network settings

  1. Open Android Settings.
  2. Go to Network & Internet → Wi-Fi.
  3. Tap on the connected network.
  4. Select Modify network (or the ✏️ icon).
  5. Open Advanced settings.

Step 2. Specify the proxy

  2. Enter:
    • Proxy host name — IP or domain.

If you have a private proxy with a login and password, you need to change the authorization type for your proxy to IP. Only then you will be able to enter your details and use the proxy.

  • MacOS

Instagram on macOS does not have built-in proxy settings. The social network uses the macOS system network settings. Therefore, the proxy must be configured at the system level.

Step 1. Open network settings

    • check “Proxy server requires password”
    • enter your login and password
    • Click OK → Apply.

  4. Select the Proxy tab.

    • Port — for example, 8080, 3128, 443, 1080.
  3. Click Save.

If the proxy requires a login/password:

  • When connecting for the first time, Windows will automatically request authorization.

Which proxies work with Instagram?

Proxies with the HTTPS protocol are suitable for correct operation.

How long does it take to set up?

Setting up the proxies themselves takes 2 to 5 minutes. Once you’ve paid, you can get started right away. Applying and activating the proxy in the Instagram app itself may take a little longer depending on your device, as you may need to change the authorization type or configure it at the operating system level.

Why has Instagram stopped working without a proxy?

Instagram may be blocked at the provider or country level. A proxy allows you to connect via the IP address of another country, bypassing these restrictions.

Can one IP address be used for profile pools?

Yes, but to minimize the risk of being blocked, it is recommended to use a separate IP address for each account.
